Different Types of Makeup Sponges:
Makeup tools have evolved drastically in the last few years. Initially, fingers were considered to be the best tool for applying foundation, then came makeup brushes which were a better and more hygienic alternative. But makeup sponge beats them all with its efficiency to apply flawless makeup using the most minimal amount of product.
However, makeup sponges have evolved too. Nowadays, beauty sponges come in so many different shapes and size making it difficult to pick the right one. Each shape is designed for a specific purpose and we will guide you through the uses of each one of them.
(1) Triangle sponge
The triangle sponge has been around for a while now and is largely used by professional makeup artists worldwide. Compared to other makeup sponges, they don’t burn a hole in your pocket. They get the job done but may not be the most ideal choice for beginners as the rigid lines make it hard to distribute the product evenly.
(2) Pear shaped
This sponge has a tapered tip that allows precision and targeted coverage. The tip can be used to get in areas that are hard to reach such as the corners of your nose. Applying the product using the curves of this tool gives an opaque finish whereas the rounded base offers a sheerer application. The slightly contoured shape makes blending your highlighter easily by rolling it on the apples of your cheeks.
(3) Oval shaped
The classic teardrop or oval-shaped makeup sponge is still the most reliable tool used by makeup artists, bloggers and makeup enthusiasts in general. And for all the right reasons, it applies a seamless coat of liquid, gel, and cream formulas leaving skin perfectly flawless. One Way to Clean Makeup Sponges:
Reusable, microbial-resistant makeup sponges or beauty blenders are an eco-friendly alternative to basic foam sponges. Like all other reusable makeup tools, however, these sponges need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Grime, germs, oils, and other gunk can build up in a dirty sponge and damage your skin. Wash your makeup blenders with liquid or solid soap on a daily or weekly basis.
2,Washing Reusable Makeup Sponges with Solid Soap.
(1) Dampen your reusable sponge and the bar of soap.
To moisten your makeup sponge, run the tool under warm water. Set the damp sponge aside and pick up a bar of gentle, unscented soap. Place the bar soap under the facet to get it wet. Rub the bar of soap between your hands until your fingers and palms are coated with a bubbly lather
Some reusable makeup sponges, often called makeup blenders, are sold with solid soap cleansers. You will not damage these products by cleaning them with gentle, scent-free soap.
(2) Massage the lather into your sponge, rinse, and repeat.
Pick up the reusable sponge and rub the soapy lather into the beauty tool. When the sponge has absorbed all of the lather, thoroughly rinse it under warm water and squeeze the excess water from the sponge. Repeat this process of cleansing, rinsing, and squeezing the sponge until the water coming from the makeup applicator is clear.
You may also rub the sponge over the bar of soap.Make sure to rinse all of the soap out of the sponge
(3) Let your sponge air dry.
When the sponge is makeup and soap free, turn off the faucet and squeeze out the excess water with your hands or a clean towel. Lay a fresh towel on your counter and place your sponge flat on its absorbent surface. When your sponge has shrunk down to its original size, you will know it is dry.
